Hello! My name is Christina (Christy) Hambleton. Prior to teaching, I worked as a Finance Manager at several Silicon Valley tech companies and internet start-ups. My interest in becoming an educator was sparked while volunteering at my son’s preschool. The volunteering transcended into an EL Para-Professional position at my son’s elementary school. I quickly realized my passion for teaching and I returned to college to obtain my teaching credential at Grand Canyon University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. Like the wonderful children I get to work with each day, I strongly believe that learning is a lifelong process. I recently obtained my added authorization in Mathematics for grades K – Algebra 1 and Masters in Education of curriculum instruction for STEM through the Teacher’s College of San Joaquin. I also believe that perseverance and struggle are crucial to the comprehension and retention of learning. My motto is, "Figure it out!" Outside of the classroom, I am an avid traveler. My family loves the outdoors and rarely miss a chance for a hike under the redwoods, kayaking down a river, a day at the ocean, or a stroll around Japan Town in San Francisco. I enjoy cooking, reading, going to the gym, and my pets. I also love to create photo books and capture the precious memories of our family, our friends, and my daily experiences and adventures with my students. I love to experience what life has to offer and I hope to nurture this same attitude in my students.
